How to Measure your Wall
Wall murals can be a stunning addition to any room, but it’s essential to measure your wall accurately to ensure a perfect fit. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to measure a wall for installing a wall mural or a decal:
Before you start measuring, ensure that the wall is clean and free of any debris or dirt. A clean surface will ensure that your mural sticks firmly to the wall.

Measure the Height and Width of the Wall
Use a measuring tape to measure the height and width of the wall where you plan to install the mural. Measure from the floor to the ceiling to get the wall’s height and from one end to the other to get the wall’s width. Write down both measurements. If the wall is not straight, then measure the longest and widest parts only. The slope is cut away during installation.

Account for Doors and Windows
If your wall has doors or windows still measure the full height and width of the surface. We will provide the full size mural that you can trim later during the installation. If there are multiple windows or door in a wall then we would suggest to hire a professional installer as trimming can be hard for such parts.

Determine the Number of Panels
Most wall murals come in several panels, and you need to determine how many panels you’ll need for your wall. To do this, divide the width of your wall by the width of each panel. If the result is a whole number, then you’ll need that many panels. If the result is a decimal, round it up to the nearest whole number to determine how many panels you need. We print 24″ wide panels with an 0.4″ overlap on the right side.
It’s always a good idea to add a little extra space when measuring your wall for a mural. This will ensure that you have enough material to cover any mistakes or accidents that may occur during installation. We provide 2″ extra bleed for every wall mural size above than 8 feet. If you need more than that you can add in the size while placing the order.
